For the 2012-13 school year, and all future years, all students entering, advancing, or transferring into 7th grade will need proof of an adolescent whooping cough booster immunization (called “Tdap”) for school in the fall.  This requirement applies to all public and private schools.  (see attached flyer for more information.)

Shakey’s Pizza Night!! Attention Century Academy family: We are having a Shakey’s Pizza Night fundraiser on Friday November 18th 6-9 pmto help raise money to send our students to Space Camp! We will receive 25% of all the money spent on food only. So let’s kick off Thanksgiving vacation with a little pizza, fellowship, and fun! Contact the school for details.  We get 25% of all the food purchases we make that night. We also get credit for take-out, they just have to mention us when they order their food.

In compliance with Government code section 54957.5, non-exempt writings that are distributed to a majority or all of the board in advance of a meeting, may be viewed at the school site or at the scheduled meeting. In addition, if you would like a copy of any record related to an agenda item or information on how to attend please contact the school.

Parents are encouraged to attend the Back to School Night on 
October 7, 2011, 6pm-8pm.

The California law (Assembly Bill 354) requires all students entering or advancing 7th through 12th grade in the 2011 – 2012 school year to show proof of a Pertussis (Whooping Cough) booster shot (Tdap) before entering school. 

If you have not already done so, please understand that your child will be sent home on October 3, 2011 if you do not have the proper documentation. 

Tdap is a booster vaccine that protects against 3 diseases: tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough (also called pertussis). If you are exercising the personal beliefs or medical exemption, you must provide us with the signed form. The school does not provide the exemption form for you. These forms can be downloaded from the Internet or may be found your child's California School Immunization Record/Doctors Office. If your child does not have a regular health care provider or insurance coverage for vaccinations, visit The Department of Public Health website or dial 2-1-1 (the Los Angeles County Information Line) for a list of no cost and low cost providers.
